PART 2 OF 2

In 1999, I first opened this site with:

"Welcome to what I call "GeeRuff Productions". Please allow me to introduce myself as the woman who shared--up close and personal--a very passionate and exciting decade and more with the late, great David Ruffin of "The Temptations". He was the lead singer of most of the best-selling hits recorded by the famous quintet out of Berry Gordy's Motown Records in Detroit at a time when it musically mattered the most. A few of his signature songs are:

@"My Girl",
@"(I Know) I'm Losin' You",
"@Ain't Too Proud To Beg",
@"I Wish It Would Rain",
@"Impossible Dream".
The list continues.

What have I produced? For one thing, David Ruffin Junior (together with David Senior, of course), as well as our dearly beloved grandchildren. Another thing I produced is my autobiography "A Memoir: David Ruffin--My Temptation". Now, of course, the sequel "Delivered From Temptation" has also been produced and published. See below.

Soul-Patrol.com presented to me an award for

"INTERNET PIONEER IN BLACK MUSIC" in July of 2004.

FYI:

“One of the most successful southern gospel groups of the late-1950s and early-60s, the Dixie Nightingales served as a training ground for future Temptations vocalist David Ruffin (1941-1991). The group, which featured the lead vocals of Ollie Hoskins, was heard every Saturday morning on Memphis radio station, WDIA.

As they were reaching the peak of their popularity, the Dixie Nightingales experienced a drastic change in 1962. Signing with the Stax label, they shifted their focus to RB and re-christened themselves, Ollie And The Nightingales. They disbanded shortly afterwards.

Although he maintained a low profile for more than four decades, Hoskins mounted a serious comeback in the mid-1990s. Signing with Ecko in 1995, he released three impressive singles (I'll Drink Your Water, Baby", "Tell Me What You Want Me To Do" and "Make It Sweet") before succumbing to a heart attack--resulting from complications from pneumonia--in October 1997.

The son of a minister, Ruffin had toured with Mahalia Jackson at the age of six. After leaving the Dixie Nightingales, he went on to become an early member of The Temptations, replacing the brief stint of founding member, Eldridge (Al) Bryant. David distinctively sang lead on such classics as "My Girl", "Losin' You", Ain't Too Proud to Beg" and "I Wish It Would Rain" among several others. He had a top ten solo hit with "My Whole World Ended (The Moment You Left Me)" in 1969. He died from a drug overdose (Genna’s comment: “allegedly”) in 1991.”

How would you go about giving your life to Jesus?

Here's an answer from allaboutgod.com:

Salvation Prayer - The Cornerstone is Christ

What is the so-called Salvation Prayer? What do I do to get "saved?" At one point or another we all ask ourselves this question.

"That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9) "Jesus answered and said to him, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.'" (John 3:3)

Salvation Prayer - Back to Basics

The Salvation Prayer is merely a road to rebirth in Jesus Christ. To be born again you must confess Jesus as Lord and believe that He is. When you ask Him into your heart, you are allowing Him to be the Lord of your life. A. Salvation is the "permission slip" to enter heaven when you leave this world. B. Salvation takes place when a person listens to the salvation message, believes it, and makes a decision to receive Jesus into his or her heart.

Salvation Prayer - The Simple Steps

1. Acknowledge in your heart that Jesus is Lord.

2. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.

3. Believe that Jesus died for your sins and was raised three days later.

4. Repent of your sins and get baptized in the name of Jesus.

The Salvation Prayer is merely a Tool to Communicate Our Faith The Salvation Prayer is not a ritual based on specific words. This is not the power of a prayer, but the power of truly committing our lives to Christ as Savior and Lord. The following is merely a guideline for our sincere step of faith: "God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross at Calvary, and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Savior.

From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. Those days are in Your hands. I ask this in Jesus' precious and holy name. Amen."

If you decided to repent of your sins and receive Christ today, welcome to God's family. Now, as a way to grow closer to Him, the Bible tells us to follow up on our commitment.

1. Get baptized as commanded by Christ.

2. Tell someone else about your new faith in Christ.

3. Spend time with God each day. It does not have to be a long period of time. Just develop the daily habit of praying to Him and reading His Word. Ask God to increase your faith and your understanding of the Bible.

4. Seek fellowship with other followers of Jesus. Develop a group of believing friends to answer your questions and support you.

5. Find a local Bible-based church where you can sense the Presence of and where you can worship God.

Again, welcome! Your life will never be the same!
